Best Family-Friendly Shows in Las Vegas

#1: Cirque du Soleil “O”

Cirque du Soleil’s “O” at the Bellagio Hotel is a must-see for families visiting Las Vegas featuring circus acts. It was our first Cirque du Soleil show and we had a blast with the VIP “La Grande Experience.”

VIP tickets got us early access to the theater, a cozy VIP suite with private cocktail service, and a fun pre-show reception with champagne for the adults, apple juice for the kids, and a decent array of snacks. A guided video tour gave us a peek behind the scenes, including the massive pool and the show’s history. The ticket prices for this experience were quite expensive, but I think it was well worth it and it would still be my top pick.

The private VIP box seating was perfect for our family, with lots of space and comfort. It was ideal for wiggly kids like our seven-year-old. We loved the professional photos with the cast, the meet-and-greet session, and the cool facts about the performers. The show itself, featuring acrobatics, trapeze, and high diving, was amazing. Our private box had great views of the stage, the visual effects, and underwater performances.

Despite a couple of minor issues, like no plates for snacks and a slow exit process, the VIP experience was totally worth it, making “O” our favorite Las Vegas show and perfect for the entire family, including our young children. It would be the perfect choice if you are heading out on a Las Vegas family vacation and only have time for one show. It is the perfect place for an amazing evening with high energy and truly was our most beloved family show.

#2: Blue Man Group

The Blue Man Group at the Luxor Hotel is a must-see for families visiting Las Vegas featuring live music. I think that kids of all ages would enjoy the show.

We went for the VIP package, and it made the experience extra special. VIP tickets, costing $220 each, included a separate entrance, free drinks and snacks, and awesome seats with great views. A highlight of the VIP package was the private meet-and-greet with the Blue Men after the show. We got to go backstage, see the costume area, and learn about the Blue Man Group’s history. Meeting the Blue Men was super fun, with photos, autographs, and even some blue paint smudges as unique signatures. Check out our full review of the Blue Man Group VIP Experience.

The show itself was amazing—full of unique instruments, fun audience participation, and lots of laughs. The Blue Men’s antics, like playing with marshmallows and interacting with audience members on stage, kept everyone entertained.

Our kids had a blast, and the whole family loved the mix of music, humor, and interactive fun. If you’re looking for a family-friendly event in Las Vegas, the Blue Man Group show is a fantastic choice and a truly must-see show.

#3: Tournament of the Kings

The Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino offers fun, medieval-themed dinner shows perfect for families visiting Las Vegas. Our evening started with a bit of a wait in line, but we were seated quickly and had excellent views of the stage.

The medieval-style meal included a Cornish game hen, baby potatoes, corn on the cob, a dinner roll, and an apple strudel for dessert. While eating with our hands was a bit inconvenient, the kids enjoyed the meal, and there was plenty for everyone. The theater showed its age, but it didn’t ruin the overall experience.

The show featured Merlin, King Arthur, and valiant knights with sword fights, dancing, and lots of audience participation. The storyline was engaging for kids but felt a bit simplistic for adults.

The sound was extremely loud, with pulse-pounding music and unexpected cannon blasts that startled us, which was intense for a family-friendly show. You also have to choose the section of the audience you want in advance, which we weren’t aware of. It turns out that the section you are in determines who you cheer for during the show. We ended up cheering for the “bad guys”, which I wasn’t a fan of.

Despite these issues, the kids had a blast cheering for their section and loved the audience interaction. Overall, the Tournament of Kings is a mixed experience—great for kids (probably best for younger children vs. older kids) but underwhelming for adults. It’s a fun evening for families but not a high-end experience. Read our full review of the Tournament of Kings or grab your tickets.

Other Great Kid-Friendly Shows in Las Vegas

If the list of shows above didn’t sell you, here are five more kid-friendly shows in Las Vegas that serve as a unique experience:

  • Cirque du Soleil Mystère: This show dives into the mysteries of the universe with stunning acrobatics and visuals. If we had another day in Las Vegas, this was going to be my next show.
  • Cirque du Soleil KA: A martial arts-based Cirque show featuring epic battles and incredible stunts.
  • Jabbawockeez: A world-famous dance group, known as America’s Best Dance Crew thanks to their engaging dance routines and signature masks, is said to be a must see. Unfortunately, it wasn’t running during our visit but I know our whole family would love to see them. Next time! Jabbawockeez have a VIP experience that I will definitely book.
  • Potted Potter: A hilarious two-person show that breezes through all seven Harry Potter books in just 70 minutes.
  • Battle Bots Arena: A thrilling event where robots battle it out in an arena; we planned to attend but ran out of time, though it seemed like it would be a blast for kids and make for a great family-friendly Las Vegas show.

If you’re looking for other fun things in Vegas with kids that aren’t strictly shows, check out our review of the Lion Habitat. Other activities we did were the Museum of Illusions (great way to spend an hour or so) and the Disney Immersive Experience (great for kids up to 5 years old…my 7 and 10 year olds weren’t too interested).

I also looked at the Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart because I have heard amazing things about Meow Wolfs around the country, but we didn’t have time to make it there.

These are just a few of the top picks for family-friendly shows in Las Vegas. Whether you’re into high-energy performances, magic tricks, or interactive experiences, there’s something for every family to enjoy in the entertainment capital of the world.
