Wanderlux is a Washington State–based blog and media site owned by Navy Blue LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect (and don’t), how advertising and affiliate links work on our site, and your choices. We’ve included language tailored to Washington State requirements.
1) What we collect
- Browsing our site: We do not directly collect personal information from visitors who simply browse our pages.
- Newsletter: If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send newsletters and updates you request. You can unsubscribe any time via the link in any email.
- Analytics & ads (indirect data): Our analytics and advertising partners (see Sections 3–4) collect pseudonymous device and usage data such as page views, approximate location, browser, and similar signals via cookies or SDKs. GA4 does not log or store IP addresses, and provides regional privacy controls and opt-outs.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
2) Affiliate disclosure & how tracking works
Wanderlux participates in affiliate programs. When you click certain links and later make a purchase/booking, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Programs we participate in include:
- Impact
- Amazon Associates – As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Partnerize
- Awin
- ShopMy
- Commission Junction (CJ)
- GetYourGuide
- Walks
- Mavely
Affiliate platforms/merchants may set cookies after you click to attribute any resulting purchase/booking. We do not receive your payment details; we receive aggregated reporting.
3) Programmatic advertising (Journey by Mediavine)
We work with Journey by Mediavine (an ad management solution by Mediavine) to serve programmatic advertising on Wanderlux. Mediavine and its partners may use first- and third-party cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to deliver, measure, and improve ads, including interest-based advertising. For details about each Mediavine Partner and your opt-out choices, see the Mediavine Partners page. You can also use industry tools like DAA WebChoices and the NAI opt-out pages.
Your ad choices:
• Manage cookies in your browser settings.
• Use DAA WebChoices (desktop/mobile web) and AppChoices (mobile apps) to limit interest-based ads where supported. (DAA is moving to WebChoices 2.0, a browser extension that preserves opt-outs across identifiers.) WebChoices
• California residents: see Mediavine’s Do Not Sell My Information resource. Mediavine
Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1): Mediavine provides model language many publishers include verbatim. We follow the substance of that notice and link to Mediavine’s partners/opt-outs above.
4) Google Analytics (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage. GA4 uses cookies or similar technologies to collect pseudonymous information about your interactions with our site (e.g., pages visited, time on page). GA4 does not log or store IP addresses and offers controls to limit signals by region. You can opt out by installing Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-On.
5) Sponsored content, gifted stays & editorial independence
From time to time, we may publish sponsored content or accept gifted stays/experiences. We disclose sponsorships clearly where they appear. Regardless of compensation or gifting, opinions are our own and we don’t guarantee positive coverage.
6) Cookies & similar technologies
- What we set: Minimal first-party cookies necessary to operate the site and the newsletter (if/when applicable).
- What others set: Advertising/affiliate and analytics partners may set cookies/tags or use local storage after you click an affiliate link or when ads are served, to attribute commissions, measure performance, and (where applicable) tailor ads. You can control cookies in your browser and via the DAA/NAI tools noted above.
Do Not Track: There’s no common industry standard for DNT signals, so our site doesn’t respond to DNT. Use the controls above to manage tracking preferences.
7) Washington State–specific notes
- My Health My Data Act (Chapter 19.373 RCW): We do not collect or process “consumer health data.”
- Biometric Identifiers (HB 1493): We do not collect biometric identifiers (e.g., facial scans, fingerprints, voiceprints).
8) Children’s privacy
Wanderlux is for a general audience and not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9) Data security & retention
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect newsletter emails we hold. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We retain newsletter emails until you unsubscribe or we purge inactive lists during periodic clean-ups. Analytics and ad-partner data retention is governed by those partners’ policies; GA4 offers 2–14-month event retention settings (we use a standard setting and may adjust as Google updates features).
10) International visitors
Our site is published from the United States. If you access Wanderlux from outside the U.S., your information (e.g., newsletter email) will be processed in the U.S., where laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
