For luxury travelers planning a Las Vegas trip, choosing a hotel is one of the most important decisions.
There’s a large choice of luxury hotels in Las Vegas, and you’ve probably got a shortlist of top hotels to choose from. Two of the best Las Vegas hotels on that list are the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas and the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas.
I’ve experienced both these Las Vegas hotels: my family spent the 2024 Memorial Day weekend at the Four Seasons and visited the Waldorf Astoria in 2019 and 2025.
Both are family-friendly, gaming-free, and non-smoking hotels. They offer a range of luxurious rooms and suites combined with excellent amenities and services and are within easy reach of everything that Las Vegas has to offer.
So, how do you choose between the Four Seasons Las Vegas and the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas?
Read on to discover my impressions of the hotels and which is my overall winner.
Hotel Locations
The Four Seasons Las Vegas is located at the far south of the Las Vegas Strip. In fact, it’s literally the first of the major hotels once you pass the Fabulous Las Vegas sign.
The Four Seasons Las Vegas Hotel’s location is very convenient when you arrive in Las Vegas, as the drive from the airport takes less than 10 minutes. On the other hand, it also means you’re not within walking distance of any other Las Vegas attractions. There’s a tram that connects the Four Seasons with the Luxor and the Excalibur hotels, but you’re certainly on the city’s outskirts.
The Waldorf Astoria has a great location towards the center of the Strip. It sits right next to the luxury shopping at The Shops at Crystals and just a short walk from the Fountains of Bellagio, and offers easy access to several major casinos.
So, although you’ve got a slightly longer drive to and from the airport, the central location is much more convenient for the rest of your visit to Las Vegas.
Winner: Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas wins this, thanks to its more central location.
Arriving at the Hotel
The Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas is located on the 35th-39th floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and has its own private entrance within that hotel’s lobby area.
Once you arrive in the Four Seasons lobby, you’ll find it elegantly decorated with polished marble floors and neutral tones of beige, gray, and gold reminiscent of the nearby Mojave Desert.
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is situated wholly within its own building, so you enter through the hotel’s stylish Art Deco-inspired lobby.
This space recently underwent a complete renovation and relocation from the 23rd floor down to the ground floor. It now boasts wide stretches of polished Italian marble, gold accents, dramatic artwork, and floral arrangements.
Winner: This category is a tie. Both hotels have stunning lobby areas that meet expectations for a luxury Las Vegas Hotel.
The Suites
We stayed in a one-bedroom Presidential suite at the Four Seasons Las Vegas and a two-bedroom suite at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas.
Each hotel room had fabulous views over the Las Vegas Strip through floor-to-ceiling windows, however the Four Seasons’ less central location also offered a stunning Mojave Desert view. If you prefer a city view, the Waldorf Astoria also has rooms overlooking the Paris Eiffel Tower Hotel.
The Presidential Suite at the Four Seasons Las Vegas is decorated throughout in neutral tones of cream, gray, and beige. It measures 2,225 square feet and is designed to accommodate four adults or two adults and two children. It has a main bedroom with a king bed, and there are also two sofas in the living area that pull out into full-sized beds.
The marble bathroom leads off the main bedroom and has double sinks, a deep soaking tub, and a separate enclosed shower. There’s a toilet room attached to the bedroom, and a separate guest powder room in the suite’s entry foyer.
The suite has a dining area with a table seating eight people, and a living area that includes two large sofas and a second seating area with a coffee table and four chairs. There’s also a mini bar and desk, while the small kitchen area has a sink, full-sized fridge/freezer, tea kettle, and Keurig coffee maker.
Overall, the suite at the Four Seasons Las Vegas was a good size, with facilities that worked well for our family of four.
However, the two-bedroom Presidential Suite at the Waldorf Astoria is even more impressive, with a generous 3100 square feet of space and two separate bedrooms.
Like the Four Seasons, this suite has a dining area seating eight people, a living area with a flat-screen TV, and a desk area that’s ideal for a business traveler. However, it also boasts two full bathrooms, a full-sized cocktail bar, a full kitchen, and its own private fitness area.
For me, the two separate bedrooms are a major advantage of the Waldorf Astoria suite. While our kids each had their own pull-out beds at the Four Seasons, that meant we couldn’t use the living area after they’d gone to bed. At the Waldorf Astoria, the kids could go to sleep in their own bedroom, and we could continue using the living area.
When we stayed at the Four Seasons, the decor in the suite felt a little dated, with a lot of dark wood furniture. However, all the guest rooms and suites have recently been redecorated with a neutral color palette, elegant furniture, and pops of jewel-toned color. It looks much more elegant than when we stayed there, and the dated decor was really the only downside to the Waldorf Astoria suite.
Winner: The two hotels are tied on decor and views, but the better facilities and two separate bedrooms win this category for the Waldorf Astoria.
The Service
Both hotels generally offer good service, but the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas elevates it to a higher level. The service at this hotel is excellent, and they offer some lovely little things that make your stay special, like the turndown service at night or the staff offering to clean your sunglasses by the poolside.
We also received a lovely tower of sweet treats and a bottle of champagne when we arrived at our suite, which felt very welcoming.
The Waldorf Astoria staff are very friendly and respond quickly to any requests you might have during your stay. Overall, it feels like the standard of exceptional service you’d expect at a high-end hotel.
While the service at the Four Seasons Las Vegas was good, we did encounter a few problems along the way. Getting some items delivered to our suite was difficult, and when we complained about large beetles we found in our suite, the hotel’s initial compensation offer didn’t feel like an appropriate response.
Contacting staff through the Four Seasons app also felt very impersonal, and overall, the service here was disappointing for a five-star hotel.
Winner: Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is a clear winner here.
The Facilities
A stay at the Four Seasons Las Vegas includes convenient access to all the amenities you’d expect at a luxury hotel in Las Vegas, including an award-winning spa and a fitness center. The hotel offers a concierge service, transportation, babysitting, and pet-sitting services.
The hotel has its own private pool facilities, which are open seasonally. Although this isn’t a large pool, it’s very popular with families, so it sometimes feels a little cramped. The pool has eight cabanas you can rent by the day to secure a private poolside space.
Four Seasons Hotel guests can also use the shared pool complex at the adjacent Mandalay Bay Resort. That complex is much larger, with three swimming pools, a real sand beach, and a Lazy River ride. The Mandalay Bay pool facilities are more spacious, but I found the service was better at the Four Seasons’ private pool.
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas also offers access to high-quality facilities including the hotel’s Forbes five-star spa. Guests can use the hotel’s well-equipped gym, join in with a range of exercise classes, and even book personal training or one-to-one fitness consultations.
Concierge and babysitting services are available, but pets are not allowed at this hotel, which might be a consideration for you.
The 8th floor pool is relatively small compared to the Four Seasons’ on-site pool. There is a separate smaller pool that kids can use, and you can hire a cabana here, too, but the pool facilities at this hotel are pretty limited.
Winner: Four Seasons Las Vegas wins this category for its better selection of pools and facilities.
Food and Drink
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas has several food and drink options, but there isn’t much choice on the menu.
The Zen Kitchen is the hotel’s Asian-inspired main restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Its morning menu includes breakfast classics like a Breakfast Burrito or Wagyu Steak and Egg, freshly cooked pancakes and waffles, and healthy options like avocado toast and acai bowls. There’s a small lunch menu with sandwiches, pasta dishes, and poke bowls, while the evening menu here is also quite short and includes Asian-inspired entrees, sushi, and steaks.
The 23rd-floor Hotel Bar offers a small selection of lounge bites and sharing platters, and you can also enjoy a classic English afternoon tea there. You can grab a quick snack at the pool bar or opt for room service.
The Veranda is the main restaurant at the Four Seasons Las Vegas. The breakfast menu includes options like New York Sirloin Steak and Eggs or Eggs and Caviar, as well as omelets, oatmeal, and avocado toast.
They also offer a weekend Brunch Buffet with all the usual brunch favorites and some exciting options, such as a seafood bar with shrimp and ready-cracked crab or chicken and waffles.
There’s a much wider choice for dinner at the Four Seasons compared to the Waldorf Astoria. The Veranda has a Mediterranean-inspired fine dining menu featuring pasta, steaks, and other entrees, plus some tempting desserts.
You can also enjoy sharing plates and small bites in the hotel’s Press Cocktail Bar, which is like an elegant sports bar with a lively atmosphere. Alternatively, in-room dining is available, and you can also get a light meal or cocktail from the pool bar.
Winner: The Four Seasons takes this category for its more extensive dining options.
Which is the best Las Vegas hotel, Waldorf Astoria or Four Seasons?
The Four Seasons Las Vegas and the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas are two of the best places to stay in Las Vegas. Both are luxury hotels, and their lobby areas reflect that status beautifully. Both offer high quality, spacious rooms that are beautifully decorated and enjoy great views over the Las Vegas Strip.
Beyond that, each hotel has its own strengths and weaknesses and, ultimately, your decision will come down to your personal priorities.
You may prefer the Waldorf Astoria if you’re looking for a spacious suite in a central Las Vegas location, while the Four Seasons might be better if a beautiful spa, pool areas and dining options are a priority.
For me, good service is a major priority, especially when you’re paying luxury hotel prices. Although the food and facilities at the Four Seasons were good, our stay was let down by the problems we experienced with the service.
On the other hand, the service at the Waldorf Astoria fully met my expectations of a luxury hotel in Las Vegas. Our suite at the Waldorf Astoria also benefited from having a separate bedroom for the kids, and the hotel’s once-dated decor has had an elegant redesign throughout.
For those reasons, the Waldorf Astoria is my overall winner.
