If you’re searching for a luxury stay that combines elegance, history, and unbeatable location, the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square should absolutely be on your radar, and this review will answer the question of “why?”Â
Tucked into the heart of Mayfair, one of London’s most prestigious neighborhoods, this 4-star hotel is a stone’s throw from Oxford Street’s shopping, Hyde Park, and iconic landmarks like Buckingham Palace. It’s a beautiful blend of modern sophistication and a traditional five-story Georgian Revival building that feels both timeless and contemporary.
During our stay, we had the opportunity to experience the best of the hotel, from the luxurious premium room and Club M Executive Lounge to thoughtful perks like room service and access to amenities perfect for business travelers.
Whether you’re visiting central London for sightseeing, a special occasion like my husband’s birthday, or work, this upscale property delivers. Here’s a detailed look at what to expect.
Marriott Grosvenor Square Review
Location
The great location is easily one of the hotel’s standout features. Situated right on Grosvenor Square, the property sits perfectly between the Marble Arch and Bond Street, two of London’s most iconic areas.
If you’re here for shopping, you’ll find yourself steps away from Oxford Street and luxury shopping on Park Lane.
For sightseeing, landmarks like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and Piccadilly Circus are all within walking distance.
For a short drive, check out the Tower of London (30-40 minutes away by car but a must-see in London).
Transportation is just as convenient. Bond Street Station and the Piccadilly Line make it incredibly easy to explore London City or head straight to Heathrow Airport in under 40 minutes.
The Rooms
Our premium room (a one bedroom suite) exceeded expectations in terms of comfort, style, and room size. At around 518 GBP per night, it’s an investment, but it delivers.Â
The room strikes a balance between historic charm and modern touches, offering a comfortable yet refined experience. The luxurious air-conditioned rooms feature plush king-size beds, elegant furnishings, and impressive marble bathrooms complete with high-end toiletries.
Our room opened up to a decently sized bathroom on the right and then a bedroom with a door on the left. The bathroom was a nice size and featured the essentials. I will note that the tub was a bit slippery and quite small, so be careful.
Then the bedroom was also a nice size. The king-sized bed was lovely and then the seating in the room was useful as well.
The room then opened up to a large living room that I felt was quite spacious. I think if allowed, my family of four would have fit in the room just fine! They have the typical amenities along with a four-person dining set, which I thought was a nice touch. The mini bar isn’t free, so keep that in mind before diving in.
The lack of natural light in some lower-level rooms can be a drawback, so I recommend requesting a higher floor for a brighter stay. If you’re looking for something even more special, the balcony suites provide serene views of Grosvenor Square or the private gardens—a rare treat in central London.
Tech-savvy travelers will appreciate the modern conveniences, like free WiFi, easily accessible outlets, and reliable air conditioning.
Add thoughtful touches like turn-down service, a handwritten birthday card for my husband, and well-stocked amenities, and it’s clear the hotel puts guest comfort first.
Club M – Executive Lounge
The Club M Executive Lounge is one of the best parts of staying at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, especially if you’re a Platinum Elite or higher in the Marriott Bonvoy program. For elite members, this space offers a quiet, upscale retreat perfect for work or relaxation.
Mornings start with a delicious complimentary premium breakfast featuring a mix of fresh pastries, continental spreads, and hearty hot items. Throughout the day, the lounge offers snacks, coffee, and soft drinks, which makes it easy to pop in and recharge between activities.
Evenings are the real highlight. The cocktail hour provides a fantastic selection of wines, beers, and light canapés—perfect for a pre-dinner drink or a quick bite if you’re not up for a full meal.
The atmosphere is sleek and inviting, with cozy seating options and attentive hotel staff ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Dining Options
Dining at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square is an experience in itself, with options to suit any craving.
First, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is the perfect spot for steak lovers or anyone in the mood for hearty, flavorful dishes. The service was impeccable, and every meal felt like a treat.
For something a little more modern, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay offers bold, Asian-inspired small plates perfect for sharing. The atmosphere is trendy and vibrant, making it a great place for a lively night out.
Then there’s The Luggage Room, a hidden gem of a speakeasy bar. Tucked behind an unassuming door near the main entrance, this 1920s-inspired cocktail bar is the ideal place to unwind. The drinks are top-notch, and the intimate setting makes it feel like a secret escape.
If you’re craving a more laid-back option, room service is available 24/7. It’s perfect for nights when you just want to relax in your superior king room with a glass of wine and a bite to eat.
The Gym and Amenities
For a 4-star hotel, the amenities at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square are well-rounded. The fitness centre is small but thoughtfully designed, offering free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, and resistance machines. It’s open 24/7, making it easy to squeeze in a workout no matter what time zone you’re on.
Other standout services include a highly responsive concierge service, dry cleaning, and an efficient front desk team. Whether we needed restaurant reservations, directions to Duke Street, or assistance with luggage, the staff were quick to help.
The hotel is also ideal for events, offering Marriott Certified Wedding Planners and spacious meeting rooms perfect for hosting elegant gatherings or professional events. It’s clear this property is well-suited for both business travelers and leisure guests alike.
Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program
The Marriott Bonvoy program really shines at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square, especially if you hold Platinum Elite or Platinum Status.
From the moment we checked in, we felt like valued guests. The perks are unbeatable: complimentary Executive Lounge access, free WiFi, room upgrades (subject to availability), and late check-out time all enhanced our experience.
We also found that the best available refundable rate offers great flexibility for those booking through Marriott. Whether you’re staying in New York hotels, Paris hotels, or here in London, being part of Marriott Bonvoy guarantees consistent, top-notch service across their global portfolio.
We had just enough upgrade certificates to apply to this stay, so the room you are seeing is the one bedroom suite that we were so pleased to receive.
Service
From the smooth check-in process at the front desk to the friendly concierge service, the staff here went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Little details like receiving a package for my husband and the seamless room service showed that guest satisfaction is a top priority.
The London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square is a standout among London hotels. With its great location in the heart of Mayfair, luxurious premium rooms, and exceptional amenities like the Club M Executive Lounge, it delivers an unforgettable 5-star experience.
